Who is SDERT?
SDERT (South Dayton Emergency Response Team) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to distribute food, clothing, supplies, help find emergency housing with crisis or extremely weather, pet supplies and resources, to ones living out in the elements, families in need and ones involved with a crisis. SDERT works directly with Montgomery County caseworkers, police and fire departments and partners with other ministries and businesses.
Help provided is for emergency needs and to give resources needed for long term ability to move forward.
Our largest event of the year is helping to bring Christmas miracles to local children. With help from local businesses, groups, individuals and donations, this past Christmas of 2024 we were able to provide Christmas for 447 children; the largest event to date!
SDERT started in May 2019 as grassroot boots on the ground to help with the Dayton Tornadoes crisis. As time went on, with the need in the local area, it has become an actual non-profit business helping others.
SDERT will continue to thrive helping ones in need in the Memory of Brent Parker. Brent, my son, who passed in January 2022, helped start this journey caring to help others.
In February 2025, Kathi Parker, SDERT’s founder, received the Citizen Recognition Award from the West Carrollton Police Department!! This is such a testament to all the hard work she is doing for our communities!
Join Us in Making a Difference
All donations are very much appreciated and we could not help others if not for the communities, businesses, ministries and individuals who continually open their hearts with kindness to care for those in need.
